One of my favorite eats in Brooklyn

Ever since I moved to Brooklyn three years ago, Frankies has been one of my favorite restaurants in Carroll Gardens.  I've taken first dates, out of town parents and old friends. No one has ever left disappointed. Now, with moving on the horizon, I am shedding a few tears to be leaving my favorite spot and I confess I have gone about five times in the last few weeks to get my fix.  With some of the best Italian food, Frankies also offers delicious cocktails and great wine.   I would start by ordering several of the crostinis (my fav is the Cremini Mushroom & Truffle Oil)and the Braised Octopus with Dandelion Greens & Castelvetrano Vinaigrette. My favorite entrees are  House-made Cavatelli with Faiccos Hot Sausage & Browned Sage Butter and Meatballs with Pine Nuts & Raisins (shown below).  Frankies also has a little shop around the corner with meats, cheeses and their fantastic meatballs to go.  Though it may be hard to say goodbye...I know I can't stay away for too long.
